1. Keep the garden tidy
Fallen fruit, branches, and leaves provide excellent hiding places for ticks and the small animals that might carry them into the garden. It’s a good idea to regularly rake up leaves and fallen fruit, and to keep the grass trimmed short.

Hedgehogs, deer, rodents, and other wild animals often carry ticks. If possible, repair fences, seal off entry points, and avoid leaving areas that attract these animals.
3. Create a safety zone
A strip of gravel or pebbles created between the garden and bushy or wooded areas can help reduce the number of ticks entering the garden. This can be particularly useful if your garden is located in a natural setting.
Prevention is the best defense
